We are Australia’s largest environmental markets investor, natural resource manager and conservation-for-profit organisation.
At GreenCollar we see the environment as fundamental to social well-being and economic prosperity.
GreenCollar is one of Australia’s largest environmental markets investors and project developers. We strive to prove that the best way to achieve lasting environmental benefits is to place value on the environment and allow markets to provide incentives and repayment for sustainable practice and repair.
We are at the forefront of helping farmers, graziers and other landholders identify and create commercial opportunities through projects that enhance their productive enterprise and care for the environment.
As a young company, founded in 2008, GreenCollar developed some of the first projects under the Carbon Farming Initiative (2011) and is now the largest provider of carbon abatement in Australia. We have established over 100 projects across rural and regional areas working alongside private landholders, research organisations, government, natural resource management (NRM) and community groups.
GreenCollar invests in environmental markets including carbon, renewable energy, water quality and biodiversity conservation in some of Australia’s most threatened environments. We are committed to working with institutional investors and the corporate sector to unlock catalytic finance and develop commercially viable projects.
In 2017 GreenCollar created the first, innovative market solution for improving water quality in catchments of the Great Barrier Reef. The Reef Credit Initiative rewards farmers and other land managers for providing ecosystem services and improving land management practices.
GreenCollar is committed to working with landholders to design appropriate, individual projects which complement existing operations while achieving positive commercial and environmental outcomes. GreenCollar possesses full end-to-end, in-house expertise in the development, management, legal and technical implementation of commercial environmental projects.
We focus on building and maintaining positive relationships with our clients on-site and are dedicated to going above and beyond routine compliance and monitoring.
