Traditional farming life in rural Ireland (before electricity)

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Irishfarmingvideos

Videos of Irish Farming Life showcases the vast collection of farming and rural history videos produced by John Thompson Video Productions. We have been making these videos for over 30 years, long before social media and when the only medium for our videos were the bulky vhs tapes which are becoming as much of a memory as the farming practises featured throughout our films!

Our farming videos look back to a time in Ireland’s past when farming was the main occupation in the countryside, to a time when farmers used horses to till the land and harvest their crops. We re-create the farming years of the 1920’s through to the 1960’s showing the growing of popular crops back then such as oats, barley, potatoes and flax.
